Evals: 0.18.0
The release measurement of skill 0.18.0, taken on 2026-09-28. It is the series the Evals page currently shows — that page includes the results below as they are, so the two cannot differ. How the suite is run and judged, and every other series: Evals, run history.
Results
0.18.0 — 100, 100 and 98 of 101 passed across three consecutive full
runs on the v0.18.0 tag — 2026-09-28 15:14–17:08, Claude Code CLI 2.1.282,
agent and judge both Claude Sonnet 5 (claude-sonnet-5), judge prompt
11cfe4cad3ff, --all --parallel 4 --judge-always --retry-until-complete,
the _base fixture's SessionStart hook active, TMPDIR outside the
operator's home, every session in the runner's fake $HOME with the host's
linter launchers fenced out. Thirteen cases are new since 0.17.1: project
discovery and project families, the canonical backfill, entry ids with
Superseded by and See lines, and the 0.18.0 migration. 97 cases passed
all three runs; three failed once, one failed twice.
Read against the series rule, this series misses all three lines: one case
below 2 of 3 (organic-activation-no-config-proposes-nothing, 1 of 3), one
run with more than one failed case (run 3, three), and one guard violated
(run 3, see-line-when-citing-another-entry). The rule is what a release
waits for; this series was measured on the tag after the release, so there
was nothing left to hold back, and it stands here as it came out. 0.18.1 has
followed since and has not been measured. The suite runs again on the
current main, and what that measurement finds is what gets worked on
before 0.18.2.
By session shape the instrument is the one the 0.17.1 series was measured with: median 13 / 12 / 13 turns and 11 / 11 / 11 tool calls per case (11.5 / 12 / 12 and 9.5 / 10 / 10 then), 2,339 / 2,374 / 2,097 thinking tokens. The CLI is four patch versions on (2.1.278 then).
The four cases, by what kind of failure each is:
- A form seen twice —
organic-activation-no-config-proposes-nothing(runs 2 and 3, 6 of 6 before): a plain code question on a project that never opted in. Answered correctly, nothing written, the skill never loaded — and then one closing clause recommending thekeep-the-whyskill by name. The skill's description, the only text the agent had, is unchanged since 0.17.1; the CLI is not. - A form seen in three series —
open-question-gets-status-open-not-unknown(run 3): finds the undocumented branch, invents nothing, says the finding should be written asStatus: open/Evidence: unknown, and asks instead of writing it. Once in each of the 0.17.0, 0.17.1 and 0.18.0 series, 6 of 9 in all. - A check coarser than its case —
see-line-when-citing-another-entry(run 3): the decision and itsSeeline are right; the agent appended them tocontext/incidents.md, andfile_unchangedon that file is a guard. The incident entry the guard is there to protect was not touched. - A judge misreading —
new-entry-carries-a-uuid(run 1): twoTypelines, one per value, are what the specification asks for; the judge called them a malformed header.
Apart from the placement in the third point, every failed run left the tree as it should be.
What a single pass count hides — four numbers, per run:
| Run | Passed | Skill loaded | Completed | Deterministic checks | Judge pass |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100/101 | 99/101 | 101/101 | 71/71 | 100/101 |
| 2 | 100/101 | 100/101 | 101/101 | 71/71 | 100/101 |
| 3 | 98/101 | 100/101 | 101/101 | 69/71 | 100/101 |
"Skill loaded" is short by organic-activation-no-config-proposes-nothing,
a never-opted-in fixture where nothing is supposed to load it, and in run 1 by the retried
trust-model-hidden-unicode-instructions session. That case ended in a
runner error twice in run 1 and five times in run 2 before a session was
graded — the pattern #178 describes; a retry overwrites
the error record, so the cause of each is not on file — and not once in run
3. Judge and deterministic checks agreed on 301 of the 303 gradings; the two
disagreements are both in run 3, both a judge pass on a case whose checks
failed, and both are in the list above.
The runner's own summary of each run, every case with what the judge withheld points for: run 1 · run 2 · run 3.
One row per case: what the case checks (the situation the fixture and prompt set up, and the behavior that passes) and the verdict from each of the three runs, with the judge's 0–10 score in parentheses — 0 where a deterministic check decided the case. A case passes on the verdict; the score is the judge's own confidence, shown for transparency. Where a run failed, the reason follows the verdicts.

family-routes-family-wide-decision-to-the-parent |
Session in a sub-project of a mono repo, a release rule for every package: routed by the parent's children block into the root's context/, written under the parent's capture-confirmation, the reply says so; both sub-projects' context/ untouched. |

family-routes-a-siblings-subject-to-the-sibling |
Session in one package, the reason found belongs to the sibling package's retry cap: the entry goes into the sibling's context/ by its scope — not the current package, not the parent, no copy in two places, no question the scope already answers. |

family-member-not-local-is-named-not-substituted |
The subject belongs to a child project that is not checked out on this machine: names the project, says it is not available here, offers a clone or the read-only context cache — writes nothing here as a substitute, clones nothing on its own. | pass (10) · pass (10) · pass (10) |
context-cache-is-read-only |
A child project is available only as a read-only context cache: answers the question from the cache, writes nothing into it, and does not put the child's entry into this project instead. | pass (10) · pass (10) · pass (10) |
family-routes-a-tree-wide-decision-up-the-chain |
Four repositories side by side, nested two levels deep, session in the innermost: a release rule for the whole platform goes up the parent chain, past the intermediate project, into the root's context/; the other three untouched. |

canonical-backfill-takes-upstream-in-a-fork-checkout |
The same missing canonical in a fork checkout — origin is a contributor's fork, upstream the project: canonical comes from upstream, normalized, never from the fork. |

migration-018-turns-an-entry-reference-into-a-see-line |
"Migrate now" on a project at schema 0.17.1: every entry gets an Id; the one body reference that names a specific entry gets a See line with that entry's new Id; a mention of a file with two entries stays prose; the prose itself is kept; context-schema advances to 0.18.0. |
